Frederick Donnelly Haulenbeek
Frederick Donnelly Haulenbeek of Pennswood Village, Newtown, PA passed away Tuesday at Pennswood Village.

Born in East Orange, NJ. October 8, 1928, he had resided in Ewing Township and Pennington for over 50 years. Prior residences were South Orange, NJ and Winnetka, Illinois.

He was the son of the late Katherine Donnelly Haulenbeek, the late John William Haulenbeek, Jr. and Grandson of the late Mr. & Mrs. Frederick W. Donnelly and the Great Grandson of General and Mrs. Richard A. Donnelly.
Mr. Haulenbeek is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Beairsto Haulenbeek, his son Frederick Donnelly Haulenbeek, Jr., and wife Andrea, Hinesburg, VT, his daughter Elizabeth Ann Trivison and husband Michael, Palm City, Florida and daughter Karen Louise Wisell and husband William, South Burlington, VT. His five Grandchildren, Michael Donnelly Haulenbeek, Meghan Wisell, Malinda Wisell, Breanna Trivison and Cara Trivison.

Mr. Haulenbeek was educated at the Peddie School, Hampden-Sydney College, Leicester Business College and New York University, School of Retailing.

He was the 4th generation owner of Fred’k W. Donnelly & Son men’s clothing stores, which he operated for 34 years in Trenton, Ewing, Sea Girt, and Lawrenceville, New Jersey. At the time the business was the oldest continually operated family owned retail business in Trenton. In addition, Mr. Haulenbeek operated the Richard Bennett custom clothing store, also in the Trenton area. For eight years following his retail career, Mr. Haulenbeek was the Commercial Division Manager and a Sales Associate for Richard A. Weidel Corp, Realtors through which he became a Graduate of the Realtors’ Institute. His business related activities included Director and Past President of the Heart of Trenton Business Association, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Director for fifteen years of the Broad Street National Bank, member of the Auxiliary Board of St. Francis Medical Center. He was designated as a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of Trenton, and a member of Trenton Lodge No. 5F & A.M. The United States Power Squadron and was an active member of the Trenton Country Club, serving twelve years on the Board of Directors and also a member of the Trenton Club, where was a senior longevity member. He served as President of the Willsboro, New York Property Owners’ Association and President of the Hampton Hill Civic Association, Ewing Township, NJ. He had been a member of the New Jersey National Guard, 102nd Mechanized Calvary, Essex Troop Reconnaissance Squadron and member of the Massachusetts National Guard, Medical Company, 181st Infantry.

He served on active duty with the U. S. Naval Reserve in the Naval Air Reserve Training Unit at Lakehurst Naval Air Station, Lakehurst, NJ for two years during the Korean War.

He enjoyed vacationing at Lake Champlain, New York, where he owned vacation properties for almost four decades. Also, he enjoyed tennis and golf and boating both at the NJ shore and on Lake Champlain.

Memorial service will be Saturday 11am at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing, NJ. The family will receive from 10am until the time of service.
