Muriel C. Palko, 89, of Brick, N.J. formerly of Trenton, passed away on Tuesday January 17, 2012 on Hospice at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, N.J.
Born in Trenton, Muriel was a lifelong area resident, until moving to Brick, N.J. several years ago.
She was a principal clerk typist for the State of New Jersey, Division of Taxation where she retired in 1985 after more than 40 years of service. Muriel was a graduate of Trenton High School class of 1942. She enjoyed playing tennis with her late husband of 47 years, summers at the beach, and her cherished collection of photos and news clippings.
Daughter of the late Walter and Celia May Howell Callahan, wife of the late Andrew B. Palko, sister of the late Wilma Callahan, she is survived by a nephew Kenneth A. Stalgaitis of Toms River, N.J., close friends Joyce Moore of Ewing, and Louise Vilardo of Yardley, PA., a goddaughter Jody Tobish of Ewing, and her dear friends at Costco in Brick, N.J.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 716 Bellevue Ave. in Trenton.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery on Cedar Lane in Hamilton, N.J., in Mercer County.
Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of mass at the church. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
