Tibor “Ted” J. Somers, 75, of Princeton Junction passed away suddenly Monday at his home.
Born in Hungary, he immigrated to the US in 1959 living in various places in New Jersey before settling in Princeton Junction 36 years ago. Mr. Somers was a self employed Chemical Engineer.
He enjoyed gardening, traveling, completing Sudokus, and playing chess.
He was an incredibly unique man who was loved by many, and will be sadly missed.
Son of the late Tibor and Elizabeth Somers, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gerda Somers; his children, Ted and Gail Somers Jr. of Jamesburg and their children, Brian, Eric and Dana; James and Andrea Somers of Hamilton and their daughter, Erika; and Anita (Somers) and Steve Torma of Pennsylvania and their children, Derek, Devon and Deanna; also surviving is his loyal friend, Bamse, his dog.
The funeral service will be held on Friday 11am at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave. with the Reverend Fred Schott presiding. Burial will immediately be followed at Greenwood Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday from 7 until 9pm and again Friday from 10am until service time at the funeral home.
