ARTHUR E. BROWN, 84 died on April 14, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer ’s disease. A lifelong resident of the Trenton area, he was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Yvonne Brown, his wife of 59 years, Mary V. (DeVaney) Brown, his brothers, Edward Jr. and Robert J. Brown, Paul, Robert and Jules Dore and son-in-law, Andrew P. Mason, III.Prior to his retirement, he was President of Arthur E. Brown and Associates, a firm specializing in health care long-range planning. He was previously Vice President and Director of the Hospital Research and Education Trust Association of the New Jersey Hospital Association, the Executive Director of the Health and Hospital Council of Metropolitan New Jersey, Assistant Commissioner of Health for the Licensing of Health Care Facilities in New Jersey and the Chief, Bureau of Medical Facilities, Construction and Planning for the State Department of Institutions and Agencies. He was the first Chairman of the Board of the Morris Hall Health and Rehabilitation Center now known as the St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center. He was also the leader of the Art Brown Orchestra, having performed at many social events in the Trenton area. He was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at the Church of Saint Ann in Lawrenceville.He is survived by his sons, Arthur E. Brown, Jr. (Gary) of New York and Langhorne Pa, and Thomas M. Brown (Ann S.) of West Trenton and daughter, Kathleen M. Mason of Lawrenceville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Ryan T. (Shelley) and Caitlin Brown, Mary Catherine Ellsworth (Kenneth), Melissa and Andrew P. Mason IV. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Robert J. Brown, Jr.A viewing will be held on April 17, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing. His Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Church of Saint Ann, Lawrenceville, NJ.
