Barbara A. Nolan, 84, of Gainesville, FL, formerly of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, October 25th in Gainesville. Born in Trenton, she lived in Hamilton before moving to Florida last year to be closer to her family. Mrs. Nolan was a teacher for the Trenton Board of Education. She taught in Cook and Mott Schools and was head teacher for the Head Start Program. She also taught art in a summer program for the Roosevelt School System in Roosevelt, NJ. Her career spanned more than 25 years before retiring in 1985. Mrs. Nolan was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Trenton State where she earned her BA in Elementary Education, and Villanova University where she earned her MA in Education. She was also a member of the Cathedral Alumni Association. Daughter of the late James and Helen Ketterer Hearney, wife of the late Paul T. Nolan, she is survived by 2 sisters, Dr. Elaine F. Hearney of Gainesville, FL, and Claire Krester of Hamilton; her brother, Dr. James Hearney of Gainesville, FL; also, nieces and nephews, James M Hearney, Patrick J Hearney, Claire M Hoyne, Joan Manuel, Judith Krester, Elaine Potter and their families. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9pm, and Saturday from 9:30 - 10:15AM at the Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hamilton. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
