Barbara Verdel

August 29, 1941 - September 20, 2021

Barbara Joan Verdel, 80, of Leonardtown, MD, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 20, 2021. Born in 1941 in Trenton, NJ to the late Thomas C. and Mary E. (Bennett) Corkran. She was a former resident of Trenton, NJ for 17 years. When living in NJ, she was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, Ewing, NJ. Barbara married her husband James L. in 1958 in Trenton and they enjoyed 49 years of marriage until James passed in 2007. Her legacy and memory continues on through her children; Karen Saroya and her husband Sonny, Steven Verdel and his wife Fabiola, David Verdel and his wife Stephanie, Elizabeth Walter and her husband Mark, Deborah Moore and her husband Alex and 13 grandchildren; Sean, Ryan, Zachary, Adrienne, Mitchell, Rachel, Sarah, Renee, Hallie, Jake, Brandin, Isabelle and Ian, as well as, her great grandchildren; William and Penelope. Barbara's feisty spirit and humor will be forever loved, remembered and missed. A visitation will be Monday, September 27, 2021 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08619. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hamilton. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Hamilton. Barbara was a breast cancer survivor of 25 years.
