E. James “Jim” Comfort, 89, of Whiting passed away Wednesday at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, PA.Born and raised in Trenton, he lived in Cream Ridge before moving to The Pines in Whiting several years ago.Mr. Comfort was a truck driver with NuCar Carrier in Metuchen for many years, retiring over 20 years ago.A Navy veteran of WWII, he was a model builder of trucks and cars.Son of the late James M. and Arlene Mongon Comfort, husband of the late Jean A. Comfort, he is survived by his sister, Alice Samsel-Foley of Morrisville; his sister-in-law, Martha Oakerson of Wrightstown, and nieces and nephews including Helen Hartman of Whiting.The family will receive friends on Monday at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton from 9 ? 10:15am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 11am. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
