    Edward Eschleman

    October 10, 1934 - March 31, 2019

Edward "Ned" William Eschleman, 84, passed away on March 31, 2019 at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he was a New Jersey resident for over fifty years. Ned was a graduate of Ohio State University and received his Masters Degree from the Wharton School of Business. He served his country in the Army where he received the Good Conduct Medal. He was a long time employee of the State of NJ, working for the Department of Health and Human Services. A devout Catholic, Ned never missed sunday mass or a holy day of obligation. He was a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Church where he served as Lector on many occasions. In later life, he joined Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Widely known for his kind and gentle manner, Ned was a loyal husband, devoted father and caring grandfather. Characterized by Midwestern mannerisms, Ned would often greet people with a "How do?" and respond to inquiries of how he was doing with "Fair to middling!" Always willing to lend a helping hand, Ned took the greatest pleasure in helping others succeed. After retirement, you could usually find him outside – whether the yard actually needed tending or not. Ned is survived by a son, Thomas Eschleman and his wife Maria; a daughter Annemarie Greve and her husband Daniel; three grandchildren, Sara, Emily and Leah, and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Maltese. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, April 4th from 6 to 8p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, April 5th at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, West Trenton. The internment will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers Missions. For more information, please visit murphyfh.com. Murphy Funeral Home 935 Parkway Ave. Ewing, NJ 08618.
