George Seabridge
September 3, 1935 - May 9, 2019
George R. Seabridge, III, a true gentleman and exceptional man, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, 83 years ago, he lived his life caring for others and modeling a courtesy and gentility of days gone by. George attended Trenton Central High School and Trenton Technical Institute where he earned a degree as a Radio and Television Technician then started his own repair business. He dedicated many years to a career with Bell Telephone where he generously volunteered to work holidays for coworkers and treated family and friends to long-distance service. After training at Camp Lejeune, George admirably served his country in the U.S. Marines Reserves rising to the rank of Sergeant. A skilled target shooter, he also enjoyed collecting model trains and photography, capturing many family memories on film. He enjoyed baseball and rooting for the Yankees. The understated wit of the usually softspoken man often left family and friends laughing with surprise. The timing of the devoted son's passing seemed fitting, just before Mother's Day. A dear friend noted that a reunion with his deceased mother, Dorothy, would serve as his most precious final gift. He had lovingly cared for her until her death at the age of 99. After her passing, he carefully tended her resting place and those of the family he held dear. George will be remembered for a life of care and compassion for all those he loved. Besides his many cousins, he leaves a dear friend to cherish his memory. A viewing is scheduled at Murphy Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 935 Parkway Avenue, Ewing, NJ 08618 at 4pm on Thursday, May 16th. A memorial service will follow on the 16th at 5 pm also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Friday, May 17th at 9 am 1800 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08619. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association. Online condolences can be given at www.murphyfh.com
