Helen B. Waldron
Helen B. Waldron passed away on May 17, 2015 at Chandler Hall in Newtown, Pa with her son Michael by her side. She was 92. Born in San Diego to Dr. and Mrs. William Earl Beatty, Helen attended schools in NYC and Trenton, NJ, then graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY, and later earned her Masters from The College of New Jersey. Helen worked for IBM and took a leave of absence to serve in the Philippines with the Red Cross during WW II. After the war, she married Joseph J. Waldron, an advertising executive, in 1947 and brought four wonderful children into the world. They lived in Yardley, PA for most of their lives. She lost her husband and three children, Joan, Stephen and Patricia to Myotonic Distrophy. Helen is survived by her son, Michael J. Waldron and his wife Yvonne and their childrenf Anna and Joseph, all of Solebury, PA. Her daughter, Joan is survived by her husband Paul Luyber of Florence, NJ and their daughter, Victoria Lounsberry and her daughter, Alexa Houston.Helen was a member of the Junior League of Trenton, Greenfingers Garden Club of Princeton and The Bookworm Reading Club of Yardley, PA and served on the board of The Trenton City Museum. She taught English Literature at Neshaminy and Maple Point High Schools in Langhorne, PA for many years.As a volunteer Helen worked with the prisoners in the Trenton area on a regular basis. She also distributed food to those in need at Sacred Heart’s Food Program and The Lords Table in Trenton, NJ.Helen was a friend to many and loved by all.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 2nd from 10:30am at The Church of Saint Andrew, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Yardley, PA.Arrangements are under the direction of the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing, NJ.
