    Irma Aviles

    September 22, 1946 - September 26, 2020

Irma Luz Aviles, 74 of Trenton NJ passed away on September 26, 2020 at her residence. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Armando and Margarita Torres, at a very young age of six, migrated to Kings Farms, Morrisville PA with her family. She met and was married for 60 years to her late husband Hiran Aviles in Trenton NJ, whose lives were centered in their Catholic faith becoming lifelong residents. She worked and retired from General Motors' in Trenton. Mother of six children Hiran Aviles Jr (Levone), Ramon Aviles (Kathleen), Rosa Rosado (Freddie), Jacqueline Zavala (Jose),Lydia Britton (Timothy), Leonard Aviles (Gladys), sister of 10 siblings: Armando, Reynaldo, George, Iris, Teresa, and Esther, grandmother to 15 beloved grandchildren: Yasmeen Aviles, Ramon Aviles II, Monique Fireall, Deloris Allen, Michael Aviles, Freddie Rosado II, Leronda Aviles, Hiran Aviles III, Rev. Blake Britton, Alexander Britton, Jacob Britton, Victoria Britton, Rosa Mia Rosado, Giana Aviles, Leonard Aviles Jr., and 4 great grandchildren Jalin Oldacre, Kai Allen, Julian Allen and Jaxon Allen. She was predeceased by her loving husband Hiran Aviles last December, her parents and siblings Wilfredo, Richard and Margarita. Irma was a humble, all-giving hearted person that shared unbiased and unconditional love for all, regardless of who they were or where they came from. This was evident by hearing her neighborhood nickname of "Wela" called out by street kids who could not say "Abuela" but received from her the love of a grandmother. Her selfless love came within her devotion to Jesus and his Beloved Mother so much that she dedicated her life to her parish of St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral as an active member in several groups: Charismatic Renewal , Rosary Group, Lady of Mount Carmel Ministry, Youth group, transportation for retreats/ events, and the parish kitchen where she was most known for her traditional PR homemade 'pasteles' and 'sofrito' which she was literally still actively preparing by the hundreds when she passed. Loved by all, Irma had a serving heart evident by her constant desire to help the poor and needy by donating food and time. Irma's special heart was always reflected with a radiant smile on her face. Amidst any grief or suffering endured and endless time dedicated to the community and church, she still found time to enjoy life with her family and closest friends through travel, music, and dance spreading exceptional joy and laughter to all. As a diehard Eagle's fan, she could be easily found watching football and loudly cheering with her children and grandchildren. An exemplary model of a Godly woman, Irma will be missed by all but never forgotten. Family and Friends are invited to remember Irma during visitation hours on Wednesday, September 30th from 5:30-6:30 PM and again from 7:45-9PM at the Cathedral of St. Mary of The Assumption, 151 North Warren Street, Trenton NJ. A mass will follow on Thursday at 10AM in the Cathedral followed by interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Woolsey Street, Hamilton NJ. Arrangements by David L. Hernandez Jr and Murphy Funeral Homes Ewing/Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Irma's name can be made to the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption.
