James M. Gambino, Sr.
James M. Gambino, Sr., 81, of Ewing passed away Thursday at Capital Health Systems ? Hopewell Campus with his loving family by his side.Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.Mr. Gambino was employed by the State of New Jersey for over 25 years before retiring as an investigator with the Division of Taxation.He served in the National Guard and also owned JMG Unlimited for many years.Mr. Gambino was a real handyman, who enjoyed his cars, vacationing with family and friends, watching old movies, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.Son of the late Anthony and Palmina Lamarca Gambino, father of the late Jeffrey A. Gambino, brother-in-law of the late Dr. Stephen Kalapos and Dr. Joseph Brenna, uncle of the late Frederick Kalapos, Thomas Kalapos and Joseph Gambino Jr., he is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan; his son, James M. Gambino, Jr. of Hopewell; daughter-in-law, Sandra Gambino of West Amwell; 4 grandchildren, Michael Jon, Marc, Sofia and Bianca Gambino all of West Amwell; 2 sisters, Theresa Kalapos and Rosalie Brenna; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Dolores Gambino, and Joseph and Kathryn Gambino; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially Bruce Morgan and James McKee.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Monday, February 6, 11AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W. Upper Ferry Road, W. Trenton, NJ 08628. Entombment will follow in Ewing Church Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Mt. Carmel Guild, 73 N. Clinton Ave., Trenton, NJ 08609 or Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.
