    Joyce H. Moore

    December 6, 1924 - October 7, 2018

Joyce Hill Moore, (93) of Ewing, NJ passed peacefully on October 7, 2018 at the Greenwood House in Ewing, NJ. Joyce was born in Trenton, residing in Ewing most of her life and later in Pennington. Joyce graduated from Miss Fine's School in Princeton in 1942 and Connecticut College for Women in 1946. Following college, Joyce worked for the State of NJ Division of Taxation, and later became a devoted "stay-at-home" Mom. She was an accomplished bridge player, and avid reader - loved all genres, and in more recent years, when her eyesight could no longer handle the demand, Joyce became a devoted member of the Library for the Blind and continued on with her love of books on tape. She enjoyed travelling with her husband, treasured her summers in Bay Head with her family, loved Broadway shows, movies, and of course, nothing could top her spending time with her granddaughters, and now her great-granddaughters - Joyce, better known to them as "Honey", didn't care how or where - as long as she was with or talking to her girls! Joyce was a past member of the Junior League of Delaware Valley, the Trenton Country Club, and Green Fingers Club. She also supported Friends of the NJ State Museum, Old Barracks Association, and Ewing Township Historical Preservation Society. Joyce is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Edward Thomas Moore; her parents, J. Stuart and Mary Gertrude Hill; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth "Bette" and William A. Stretch; her brother, J. Stuart "Bunker" Hill Jr.; and her grandson, Edward T. "Trey" Moore, III. Joyce is survived by her daughter Jody and her husband Jonathan Tobish of Ewing, NJ, their daughters, Liza and her husband Win Slauch of Oxford, Pa., with their daughters Maren and Gemma; and Samantha, with her boyfriend Alexander Mangonon of Philadelphia; her son Edward T., Jr. and his wife Nancy, and their daughter Felicity of Mt. Laurel, NJ; along with her dear friend and sister-in-law - Elisabeth (Betty) Hill; her nieces and nephews and their families, her beloved friends, and her special friend from Greenwood - Marjorie Penn. The family would like to gratefully thank everyone at Greenwood House, especially Joyce's nurses, aides, and dining room attendants - all of whom took kind and devoted care of Joyce right up until… Memorial Visitation for Joyce will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 10am-11am followed by an 11am service at Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave, Ewing NJ. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be honored in her name to Greenwood House, 51 Walter St., Ewing, NJ 08628.
