    Konstantinos "Gus" T. Merias

    December 20, 1937 - February 10, 2018

    Konstantinos "Gus" Merias, 80, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Born in Agios Georgios Sikousis in Chios, Greece, Gus proudly served in the Hellenic Army of Greece before immigrating to Trenton, NJ in 1966. Gus was known as a hardworking painting contractor who ran his own successful business ?for over 30 years?. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the horse races with his friends, watching the Phillies and walking. Gus was a kind, selfless person who loved and cared for his family above all else. Son of the late, Theodoros and Theodora Merias of Chios, Greece, he is survived by his wife, Eleni (Thrappas) Merias, of 53 years; his two sons, Theodoros, and Christos and his wife, Suzanne, and granddaughter, Ava; predeceased by his brother George; survived by his two brothers, Nicholas of Chios, Greece, and Simos (Eleni) of Australia, and sister, Irene (Michael) Tsoflias, of Chios, Greece; Brother-in-law, Isidoros (Eleni) Thrappas of Columbus, Brother-in-law, George (Dolores) Thrappas, of Hamilton, Sister-in-law, Vasilia Milonas, of Hamilton, Sister-in-law, Angeliki (Soterios) Tsoflias, of Akron, Ohio, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, February 14, from 9-10:30AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Road, Hamilton, NJ. A funeral service will take place at church beginning at 10:30AM following the visitation. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1200 Klockner Road, Hamilton, NJ.
