January 16, 1924 - August 3, 2020
Mary Sienkiewicz, 96, of Lawenceville, NJ passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born in Trenton to the late Joseph and Julia (Hamran) Madola. She was lovingly raised by Frances (Bolash) Madola after her biological mother's death when Mary was the young age of 23 months. Mary attended Trenton Public Schools and had proud careers working for Sterling Drugs, Trenton Trust Bank and the NJ, Department of Labor and Industry when she retired in 1986 as a principal audit account clerk. Mary was a woman of many talents. An accomplished seamstress, she made holiday dresses and prom gowns and coats for her two daughters in addition to draperies and bedspreads for family members. No Easter or Christmas holiday, baptism, communion, or shower were complete without "Nana's Cookies" which unfortunately no one has been able to replicate on a consistent basis since she kept all her recipes in her head. She demonstrated a strong sense of independence when after her husband's death in 2006 she continued living on her own until the age of 92. Mary also loved to travel but was especially fond of the New Jersey shore and she never passed up an opportunity to visit a casino. In addition to her husband Stanley, (known to all as Ray), Mary is predeceased by her daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Tom Heitzman, her grandson Michael Heitzman, and her siblings Julia Rich, Stephen Madola, and Josephine Costello. She is survived by her daughter Marcia Adams and husband Bob, of Mercerville, as well as her grandchildren Thomas Heitzman and wife Evan of Moorestown, James Heitzman and wife Tracy of New Hope, PA, Katie Harkness of Princeton Junction, Will Harkness of Pennington, Jonathan Adams and wife Meghan of Maui, HI, David Adams and wife Wendi of Robbinsville, and Drew Adams of Langhorne, PA, as well as her 9 great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. The family sends a special thank you to the caring folks at St. Mary's Grace Gardens at Morris Hall who helped her survive COVID-19 and made her last months full of love and laughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 11:00 on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Burial of Cremains will take place privately at a later date. Contributions may be made in Mary's honor to Woods Services/Development Office/P.O. Box 36, Langhorne, PA 19047, a nonprofit organization which supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
