Robert Richard Kelly, 60, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton. He was born in Trenton, New Jersey and has been a lifelong resident of the area. He had a successful career in law-enforcement with the Sheriff's Department of Mercer County and was currently a Detective. Prior to joining the Sheriff's office, he worked at McGraw-Hill. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, boating and jet skiing. He was happiest getting together with his friends for a round of golf and a cold beer. He was proud of the fact that he was a member of the 1978 Steinert Spartans Baseball Team, which won the state championship. He enjoyed his trips to Maine and simply loved being around his family and friends to reminisce about the good old days. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and TPADS. He leaves behind his son Bryan Kelly, a brother Bill Kelly, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Chuck Gregory and Mary Lynn and Greg Adams, nieces and nephews Kelly Foley and her husband Jay, Jason Gregory and his wife Kristan, Laura McGrory and her husband Mike, Taylor Kelly, A.J. Adams and Ashley Adams, five great nieces and nephews and special friends CJ McKenna and Ed DiNatale, and his four legged sidekick, "The Duke." Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 1 PM to 5 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, NJ. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church in Hamilton Square followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hamilton.
