Salomea T. Houghton

October 3, 1937 - May 2, 2022

Salomea T. Houghton, 89, of Ewing, passed peacefully in her home from this life to eternal life on Monday 5/2/22. Born in Ewing, Sally lived her whole life in the home built by her father. Sally was a registered nurse who practiced at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital and ended her career after a long stint as school nurse at Trenton State College. Sally was a product of Catholic education by attending St. Hedwig's and Cathedral HS in Trenton. She went on to get her Nursing License at what was then called Helene Fuld Nursing school. Sally was vibrant, active, and engaged socially until her stroke in Jan 2022. Her time camping, skiing in the Poconos, traveling to Florida and going to the casino with her friends was a highlight for her. Sally and husband Harry were members of the NJNG and the Trenton Elks Lodge #105. Her faith was important to her and for many years Incarnation-St James in Ewing was the church she supported and called home. Daughter of the late Alexander and Josephine Kopczynski and wife to Harry B. Houghton (deceased), mother to Pamela Joy (deceased), and Harry S. (Buddy) (deceased), she is survived by: her daughter Joellen Futey Lundy of Jackson and daughter Deborah Houghton (Robert Veazey) of Pennington; her grandchildren Skyler Veazey (Patrick Ambrosio) and Shelby Veazey, Jon-Paul Futey (Mandy Futey) and Janell Houghton; great-granddaughter Elliana Q. Futey; daughter-in-law Carol Houghton Clark (Bill Clark); step-grandchildren Christian and Jonathan Fierabend; and many wonderful loving nieces and nephews.
